CONTINUATION PAGE

1. Question: Please provide specifications on the Automated CHP cooling tower feed system (brand and model) and the extent to which we are expected to maintain this equipment? Normal service includes recalibrating and program equipment when onsite, but will we be expected to replace parts when they go bad or will the VA purchase replacements if needed?

Answer: Cooling tower feed system brand and mode were provided in an earlier amendment. Photo also attached. VA will purchase replacement parts if needed.

2. Question: Please provide details on the maintenance expected for the RO and Softener systems? Does this include refilling salt, changing filters, changing membranes, etc. or just normal testing and calibration while on site during monthly service visits?

Answer: Contractor shall periodically verify the proper operation of non-chemical water treatment systems which serve the boiler plant including: Feedwater, deaerator, water softener, reverse osmosis (RO), dealkalyzer, continuous blowdown, and condensate vacuum system water softener and RO systems. This shall include inspecting salt level and RO filter conditions. No adding of salt.

3. Question: Please detail what is required in item 0001AH inspect reverse osmosis system and how that differs from item 0001AE?

Answer: Answer: New price schedule clarifies requirement.

4. Question: Please provide system information on Boilers (HP, operating PSI) and Cooling towers (Tonnage, system Volume, and pictures if possible so we can price the tower cleaning job correctly)? Also please let us know if the cooling towers are on the roof or the ground or would need any special scaffolding to reach to clean?

Answer: System information on Boilers (HP, operating PSI) and Cooling towers provided in previous amendment. Cooling Towers are located on the roof. Previous clean by contractors did not need scaffolding.

5. Do you also want us to include HPC testing in accordance with the new Engineering standard requirements for Cooling Tower systems or just Legionella testing?

Answer: Only Legionella.

6. Question: The Schedule for Services description lists cooling towers in the CHP and in Building 22 as part of the SOW but the Price/Cost schedule only appears to mention 1 cooling tower?

Answer: New price schedule clarifies requirement.

7. Question: Is line item 0001AK Chemicals for ALL chemicals (boilers and cooling towers) or just for the cooling tower based on the makeup listed? If just for cooling tower, where would you like the boiler chemical to be accounted for?

Answer: New price schedule clarifies requirement.

8. Question: if the VA owns the controllers and chemical tanks at the site or if they are provided by the contractor. It doesn’t say in any of the info you provided.

Answer: VA owns the controllers but not the totes or secondary equipment.
