This meeting was for the purpose of reviewing the contract drawings and walking the project site giving contractors an opportunity to make observations and ask questions pertaining to the project in preparation for submitting their bids.
1 The meeting convened and a brief outline of the project was presented by (RH) and (JS) to the attending contractors. The mechanical work was described in basic as the replacement of a condensing unit on the third floor roof, replacement of a humidifier inside of the PET/CT room and the replacement of an above ceiling A/C unit along with associated ductwork in the PET/CT area.
2 The electrical scope was described as the work to provide electrical power and connections associated with the above mechanical changes as well as the replacement of lighting fixtures and switching in the PET/CT area. The electrical contract also includes the installation of all
Pre-Bid Walk-Through - Meeting Minutes August 31, 2020 below floor conduits, recessed wireways and power reconfigurations as needed for the installation of the new PET/CT unit. It was stressed by (RH) that there will need to be a great deal of coordination with the G.E. project manager throughout the course of the project to ensure all project requirements are met for a complete installation.
3 At the direction of (JS) the meeting attendees then took part in a walk-through of the project site that included the first floor pharmacy area which will have conduit installation work directly below the second floor PET/CT room above. The walk-through also included the second floor PET/CT area.
4 (RH) noted that there was also work scope on the third floor roof and in the basement electrical room but no contractor had interest in walking either of those two areas.
5 As questions arose during the walk-through it was noted that the bidding contractors would need to officially submit their questions to the contracting officer.
6 Upon completion of the walk-through, the meeting reconvened back in the Building 3 conference room where Patrice Richardson-Scott, the contracting officer joined the meeting.
There was a brief review of the contract drawings. Josh Schneider then noted that the final day for submitting RFIs would be September 8, 2020.
