Asbestos Surveillance Report

The General Contractor and/or Prime Contractor is fully responsible of the following:

All Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) must be removed by a Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor prior to impact by renovations or demolition activities.

Areas behind solid walls and ceiling were inaccessible and therefore could not be visually surveyed for suspect ACMs. If suspect materials are observed during renovation/demolition, those materials should be sampled by a Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed Asbestos Inspector prior to impact or assumed to contain asbestos. Materials identified as ACM in this plan may be located in other areas of the buildings concealed behind interior finishes or covered by other materials.

Based upon previous work experience at the facility, prior to any renovation project, more extensive asbestos testing is performed in each area planned to renovate prior to the start of work.
