About this file
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) in North Carolina for architectural and engineering design services. The solicitation seeks qualified firms to provide services for the renovation of approximately 9,000 square feet of warehouse space at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing facility located at 6012 W. Gate City Boulevard in Jamestown, North Carolina. The project will convert unconditioned warehouse space consisting of concrete floors, steel columns, roof joists, metal roof deck, and limited finished drywall into conditioned space for aviation composites laboratories, adjacent classrooms, storage, offices, and code-compliant restrooms. The scope includes providing power, ventilation, and accommodations for instructional equipment installation, with potential special construction requirements including demolition of portions of the industrial slab for restroom plumbing and compliance with Land Use Restrictions from an applicable Brownfields Agreement. Letters of Interest with completed SF-254 forms must be submitted by Friday, October 16, 2026, at 3 p.m. EDT to the Construction Office at 1003 Bonner Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282, Attention: Matthew Gunderson. Short-listed firms will be required to conduct in-person interviews with a pre-selection committee on the Jamestown Campus, with finalist firms subsequently interviewing with the GTCC Board of Trustees for final selection.
The estimated project budget is $1.9 million, with funding sourced from county funds. Proposing firms must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina. Selection criteria emphasize successful delivery of projects under the North Carolina Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Designer (OC-22), past performance on similar projects, ability to meet schedule constraints, construction administration capabilities consistent with OC-22 requirements and the State Construction Manual, adequate staffing for both design and construction phases, and proximity to or familiarity with projects in Guilford County. Submissions must include three copies of the SF-254 form and a Letter of Interest not exceeding one page front and back or two single-sided pages, formatted on 8.5" x 11" pages and stapled in the upper left-hand corner. Email and fax submittals will not be accepted.
