About this file

This is a technical specification document for Section 260583 Wiring Connections as part of the 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade project (GovTribe ID: 260583). The specification establishes requirements for electrical connections to equipment and defines standards for wiring devices, cords, caps, disconnect switches, flexible conduit, wire, cable, and boxes. The work includes making electrical connections in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, installing flexible conduit connections to equipment with liquidtight flexible conduit required in damp or wet locations, providing receptacle outlets to accommodate cord and plug connections (specifically NEMA 6-20R configuration), installing disconnect switches and controllers, and completing interconnecting conduit and wiring between devices and equipment. All work must comply with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) as adopted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction and reference standards including NEMA WD 1 and NEMA WD 6.

The specification requires product data submittals showing wiring device manufacturer catalog information, dimensions, configurations, and construction details. Cord construction must meet NFPA 70 Type SO specifications with identified equipment grounding conductors suitable for damp locations, sized appropriately for the connected equipment load and branch circuit overcurrent protection rating. All electrical connections must incorporate proper strain-relief clamps and fittings, and heat-producing equipment must use wire and cable with insulation rated for temperatures encountered. No specific pricing, contract duration, award date, or project timeline information is provided in this technical specification document.
