About this file

This is a Question and Answers document issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation regarding IFB 161102 for Incidental Concrete Repairs in Fairfax County. The project involves providing labor, traffic control, supervision, equipment, concrete, materials, and all incidentals to complete incidental concrete repair work on an on-call, as-needed basis for Fairfax County in the Northern Virginia District. Bid item #3 specifies 5 square yards of CG-12 Detectable Warning Surfaces (Truncated Dome), as clarified in Addendum 1. The document was issued on August 24, 2026, and addresses questions regarding bid requirements and specifications.

The procurement does not require a bid bond. While there is no fixed minimum percentage requirement for DSBSD subcontractor participation for non-DSBSD-certified prime contractors, the Commonwealth has established a goal that 42% of its purchases be made from small businesses. Bidders may attach an equipment list to the bid package per Addendum 1. The clarification regarding bid item #3 being adjusted to square yards rather than cubic yards is referenced in Addendum 1, section 4, indicating modifications to the original specifications.
