Muir Woods Admin Site Walk Questions and Clarifications

Q: How much space is above ceiling in the grid areas?

A: Around 7 to 8 inches between grid and hard ceiling. There are multiple locations where the hard ceiling has fallen or has holes. There is attic access for all areas of the building.

Q: Does the underlayment have to be separate from the flooring?

A: Yes.

Q: Where should the propane line be capped?

A: The propane line enters the furnace closet behind the closet. There is a shutoff at this location. The line shall be capped prior to the entrance to the closet (exterior of building).

Q: Will office furniture have to be moved?

A: Per the SOW, office furniture must be moved to the Conifer Classroom. If the contractor believes that they can complete the project while allowing staff to continue to work in the Administration Building, moving will not be necessary. If this is the case, the contractor must clearly state how they will accomplish keeping the Administration Building open during construction in the proposal.

Q: Will the contractor be responsible for hooking up phones and internet in the Conifer Classroom after the move and again when furniture is moved back to the Administration Building at the end of the project?

A: No. The contractor will not be responsible for moving or connecting phones or computers. The

Government will move and hook up phones and computers. The contractor will be responsible for moving the printer/copier as well as furniture.

Q: What material should be quoted for shoe mold?

A: Pine. The shoe will need to be stained to match the floor color.
