Badlands National Park Wastewater Upgrade Questions and Answers 2

#
Question
Response
1
The exposed liner will make access and testing of lagoon difficult for staff

Compaction Tests will be completed before liner is installed.

2
There is no water level indicator on the plans for staff to determine lagoon levels quickly and easily

Correct. The level indicators are not part of this project.

3
The concrete anchor on sheet C-13 Detail 2 is not typical. For this installation excavation and anchoring of the liner with soils is adequate. The concrete anchor will substantially increase the cost of the project and is not required. We recommend the anchor detail be noted as per manufacturer requirements or this may be a large value engineering item.

Bid per plan specs

I have attached the OST Water Code and fee schedule. I am pretty sure the water supply system is OST Rural Water and not West River Lyman Jones but please double check.

Correct. The water main that runs along the BIA 27 is OST Rural Water. Contact Information:

Oglala Sioux Rural Water Supply System PO Box 386 East Highway 18 Pine Ridge, SD 57770

· (605) 867-1999 | fax: (605) 867-2114

Please update question 24 answer from previous Q&A list.

5
Will the owner be providing water to the site?

No- if water is taken from the access in the park from the parks facilities the park will incorporate the costs. If you are wanting to have larger/close access from the fire hydrant at the location this would be a private agreement between the contractor and is OST Rural Water If the contractor decides to bring in their own water or water from a different source location, then the costs would be incumbent on the contractor
