SOURCES SOUGHT (MARKET SURVEY)

Replace Bison Corrals, Construct Pre-engineered Building Foundation Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota (Reference 140P6320B0009)

The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of contractors for a possible upcoming project. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy determination based on the results of this market survey.

Prime contractors interested in working at Wind Cave National Park to remove existing corral structures, construct new corrals, install concrete pads/foundation, and supply a pre-engineered building on site to include management of project and subcontractors, should provide a response. We anticipate that work would begin in late 2020 and be completed in 2021.

The NAICS code for this project is 238990, Other Specialty Trade Contractors, with a small business size standard of $16.5M. The Magnitude of Construction anticipated is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Interested contractors should also consider their construction bonding capacities when responding.

Overview: This project will include all mobilization, work, labor, and materials to complete this work to include Prime/Subcontracting oversight as follows: The government anticipates that the work will include removal of existing corral construction consisting of steel posts and footings with metal sheeting attached/welded for pens, alleys and chutes, material recycling and documentation, and surface smoothing/preparation to prepare for new corral installations. The new corrals will be constructed of pipe/recycled well piping, with UV resistant colored plastic sheathing made from recycled plastic to line the walls of the corrals. New gates will also be installed to move bison through the facility. A squeeze chute will be required, installed in the proper position using slab by methods to withstand abuse by large heavy animals. The chute will utilize hydraulic lines/system installed on nearby concrete slab. Contractor will be responsible for the installation of concrete anchors needed to support a scale beneath the chute area. Contractor will also anchor a 150KW generator and resistor bank on the pad. The contractor will also install four (4) new equipment concrete pads and a pre-engineered building foundation/concrete slab floor/stem wall system to support work in/around the squeeze chute area. A 26’ x 26’ slab will be constructed to support a prefabricated building. A 25’ x’25’ pre-engineered metal building or alternative pole barn pre-finished corrugated metal panels will be supplied. All specifications documents/drawings will be provided if/when the government proceeds with a formal solicitation.
