A. GENERAL

1. Complete all work in each section as indicated by the individual sheet before moving onto the next section. Refer to the Drawings.

B. CONSTRUCTION LIMITATIONS

1. Do not apply when roadway surface or weather conditions would prevent satisfactory construction.

2. Weather Limitations: Do not place when the air temperature is below 55℉ and falling, but may be applied when both pavement and air temperatures are above

45℉ and rising.

3. No slurry seal shall be applied when there is danger that the finished product will freeze before 24 hours.

4. Do not place when pavement temperatures exceed 140°F.

5. Do not place when wind velocity exceeds 15 mph.

C. SCHEDULING

1. Prior to moving to next scheduled area of work, contractor to notify COR to confirm work is complete and ready to accept traffic.

D. EQUIPMENT

1. Mixing Equipment

The machine shall be specifically designed and manufactured to lay slurry seal.

The material shall be mixed by a self-propelled, slurry seal mixing machine of either truck-mounted or continuous-run design.

2. Proportioning Devices

Individual volume or weight controls for proportioning each material to be added to the mix (i.e. aggregate, mineral filler, emulsified asphalt and additive) shall be provided and properly marked.

3. Spreading Equipment
