Questions and Answers:
1. Question: Sheet 12 of the plans, drawing sheet C502, Dock Requirements: Item 3 requires 2’ x 2’ Reinforced Concrete Deck Panels. How are these secured in place?
Answer: We believe they are typically contained by plates around the edges of the dock.
Examples of docks with these panels can be seen at the Hauser Lake Boat Launch and Sun-up Bay Boat Launch. We believe the Sun-up Bay Boat Launch was designed by Welch Comer & Associates.
2. Question: Are there any restrictions regarding pile driving for the pier and dock, i.e. vibratory
vs. impact hammer?
Answer: According to the Letter of Concurrence from Fish and Wildlife Service, USDOI, pilings will be driven using an impact hammer with a wooden block cushion to reduce noise.
3. Question: What are the requirements for sediment control for in water work? Is dewatering required to install the rip rap if installed during low flow?
Answer: Type 2 turbidity curtains are required for sediment control for in water work.
Dewatering is not required if rip rap is installed at ordinary low water stage of flow.
