About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding the technical specifications for the RFP 140L1222R0010 solicitation to construct an Eagle Lake Field Office maintenance shop for the Bureau of Land Management in California. Key details include confirmation that factory-provided foam closures and weather seal trim can be used instead of miter-cut panel tops for pre-engineered metal building wall panels. Interior wall panels must be 26-gauge and span from the bottom angle to the first girt around 7-8 feet above floor level. Taller 36x84 inch entry/exit doors are acceptable, and gutters and downspouts will be omitted to prevent damage from roof snow slides.

Questions and Answers
1. In the technical specifications, pre-engineered metal buildings section 2.04 wall panels, may we utilize factory provided foam closures and weather seal trim instead of the requested mitre cut panel tops?
The pre-molded closures and weather seal trim are acceptable as long as they conform to
“industry” standards.
2. Same section, 2.05, what gauge Interior Wall Panel is required.
This information is on Drawing G100 in the PEMB Note G. The interior wall panel shall be
26-gauge and shall span from the bottom angle to the first girt usually located about 7 or 8 ft above finished floor.
3. Same section, 2.07 Entry/Exit Doors, specifications call out 36” x 80” doors size… standard metal building doors are 36” x 84”. Is this size acceptable?
Yes. The taller door size is acceptable.
4. Same section, 2.11 Gutters, can we omit the gutters and downspouts, so they are not torn off when roof snow slides.
Yes. Gutters and downspouts shall be removed from the project.
