Quesons and Answers Amendment 0002
Q1: Please confirm that the PV arrays will be located adjacent to the barn structure. The solicitaon shows a locaon further from the barn, but during the site visit the locaon was stated to be near the barn.
A1: The PV arrays need to be located in the area South of the rain intercept shelter (“barn structure”) but as distant from the structure as possible, staying withing the boundaries of the pasture. The structure will affect the microclimate at the PV arrays, thus affecng our agrivoltaics research.
Q2: Is the 208V, 3 Phase output from the inverter(s) a rigid requirement? We are considering a higher voltage output, but using a transformer to ensure the voltage is 208V before connecng to the grid.
A2: Yes, we need a 3 Phase output.
Q3: What azimuth angle is expected to be used for the solar array (ex. Due south with manual elevaon lt angles)?
A3: 180 degrees.
Q4: Are the solar arrays expected to be placed in a configuraon of 4 rows and 1 column, or 4 columns in 1 row?
A4: Configuraon and spacing need to allow for agricultural research and allow for future expansion.
Each array needs to be spaced apart at a distance equal to its size. For example, if the array is 52 x 12 feet, there needs to be an empty area of at least 52 x 12 feet surrounding each array.
Q5: Please clarify that the following was a typo in document “Attachment+1+Scope+of+Work” 7.0 Specific Requirements item #4 “The contractor shall provide and install a 50kW (AC) 3-phase 208V inverter and two (2) 25kW inverters (or equivalent).” Did the USDA mean “OR” instead of “AND” given this system is rated at 50kw?
A5: This is a typo, should read “OR”. The scope of work has been updated to reflect the change.
Q6: Will the USDA be providing power to the site through a connecon from a local building or panel?
A6: Yes, connecon point is ed to the grid.
Q7: Will the USDA please provide geotechnical reports of the project site? If none are available currently, will the USDA be providing Geotechnical reports?
A7: No to both.
Q8: What equipment is currently installed at the future point of interconnecon?
A8: It’s an office and lab building.
