About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for Solicitation 12444325Q0006, related to a Waste Water Treatment Operator position for the Monongahela National Forest Cheat-Potomac Ranger District in Petersburg, WV. The document addresses testing requirements for the waste water treatment unit, specifying that the operator will quarterly take a "grab" sample and deliver it to a certified laboratory approved by the Forest Service. The contractor is responsible for testing costs and must ensure the chosen lab is on the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection's approved list.

The response details that the lab will complete sample testing and send findings directly to the contractor, who must then provide a copy of the analysis to the Forest Service. This documentation is critical for filing quarterly reports with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to maintain the waste water treatment unit's operational permit. The previous contractor used PACE Analytical Services in Beaver, WV, but other lab companies can be used with prior approval from the Forest Service.

a. See the following information and the amended statement of work in reference to this question.

Our prior contractor used PACE Analytical Services in Beaver, WV and typically used a courier from the company. There are other lab companies which can be used, however, the contractor should check with us prior to selecting a lab. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection maintains a list of approved lab companies and the company chosen must be on that list.

The lab will complete their testing of the sample and send a report of their findings to the contractor. The contractor must pay for the testing. The contractor must also provide a copy of the analysis to the Forest Service. This can also be arranged through the lab company—PACE sent the results form the previous contractor's samples direct to me. This report must be given to the Forest Service so we can file our quarterly report with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to prove our waste water treatment unit is being properly maintained. This allows us to keep the permit for the operation of the waste water unit.
