About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for campground reconstruction work on the Payette National Forest and Council Ranger District. The solicitation calls for decommissioning an existing submersible pump and well casing at Huckleberry Campground and replacing them in kind. Modification requirements for the new pump are provided. Two new cattle guards will be installed at Cabin Creek North and Cabin Creek South campgrounds, replacing the existing cattle guards which will be disposed. One fee tube relocation at Cabin Creek North is government furnished labor only, while a new fee tube at Cabin Creek South will be commercial sourced materials and labor. The Forest Service will obtain necessary permits and pay fees for a septic holding tank at the camp host site.

Q&A

1. Huckleberry Well- Do you want a separate tapped and plugged access on the well casing in addition to what the Monitor pump already has (please see attachment)? The chlorination port on the Monitor Pump is sufficient.

1. Huckleberry Well- Specs are requested for what is wanted for the new electrical receptacle and submersible pump. The drawings and specs already sent out seem to only provide information for the decommission of the existing one. The new submersible pump and receptacle shall replace the existing in kind (same size and style). The existing pump shall be salvaged.

1. Huckleberry Well- Sheet 7 of the drawings refers to 4 modifications wanted to the new pump but only 3 (#1, #2 and #4) are listed. What is #3 There are only 3 modifications, Mod #3 was for a previous project that does not apply at Huckleberry CG.

1. Cattle Guard- Sheet G2 “remove and relocate”, Sheet DE1 Notes 3. Remove and dispose of cattleguard/ not salvaged, Sheet DE1 drawings “remove & salvage cattle guard”, Sheet G3, and the schedule of items shows a new cattle guard (323110) for both Cabin Creek North and Cabin Creek South. Are two new cattle guards wanted or one new and one salvaged? Please clarify. There shall be 2 new cattleguards. The existing cattleguards shall be disposed of as the FS no longer has a need for them.

1. Fee Tubes- Cabin Creek North 129700 fee tube gov. furnished and Cabin Creek South 129700 fee tube. Please confirm that one fee tube is labor only to relocate, and the other fee tube is materials and labor to install. This is correct. The fee tube for Cabin Creek North is government furnished, and the fee tube for Cabin Creek South shall be commercial sourced.

6.Has the Forest Service received approval for a septic holding tank from the health department? And will they be providing the necessary permits for the camp host septic tank, or should the septic company include that cost in their bid? The Forest Service will obtain the permit and pay any associated fees.
