About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the construction of a new two-story Umpqua National Forest Supervisor's Office building and remodeling of an existing Bureau of Land Management building to connect the facilities. The amendment provides responses to vendor questions about the required structural metal framing and clarified wood species for the cross-laminated timber panels. For the framing, 97 mil deflection drift tracks can be used for non-load bearing walls in place of 97 mil tracks. Douglas Fir is the preferred species for the CLT panels and should be harvested and milled in Douglas County, Oregon if possible. The receipt date for offers remains March 10, 2021 at 4:00 pm PST. The solicitation is for the Department of Agriculture Forest Service and involves connecting the new USDA Forest Service building to an existing Bureau of Land Management facility in Douglas County, Oregon.

Questions/Comments
Page S‐610 detail 1 typical non structural metal framing has note directs you to 7/S‐611 calls out top track to be 97 mil x2 1/2" flange slotted deflection drift track. Question im asking is all non load bearing walls to be a 97 mil top track or can top track be stud gauge match deflection drift track. For example a 33 mil stud wall can top track be a 33 mil deflection drift track.
There are several species and appearance options for the CLT panels. Please clarify what species material and grain/profile is desired.
