About this file

This document is a specifications document for a line-scan visible-near-infrared hyperspectral imaging system for large-size samples, issued by the USDA-ARS Tropical Crop and Commodity Protection Research Unit (TCCPRU). The technical requirements specify a hyperspectral camera with line-scan (pushbroom) capabilities, covering a spectral range of 400-1000 nm, with at least 447 spectral channels, a spectral resolution of 2 nm or better, and 1600 or more spatial pixels.

The project requires a large sample scanning system with a linear translation stage capable of accommodating samples up to 80 cm in length and height. Additional required components include a calibration tile, standard c-mount objective lenses (12 mm and 23 mm), software for stage/camera movement and data acquisition/analysis, and a halogen light source. The system must be delivered to the TCCPRU located at 64 Nowelo Street, Hilo, HI 96720 within 90 days of award, with the technical point of contact to be determined at the time of award.

Specifications Project: A Line-Scan Visible-Near-Infrared Hyperspectral Imaging System for Large-Size

Samples

1.0 Scope:

Provide a line-scan visible-near-infrared hyperspectral imager with a large sample scanning system.

2.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

• Hyperspectral camera: characteristics and specifications o Line-scan (i.e. Pushbroom) o Covers spectral range equal or greater than 400-1000 nm o Equal or greater than 447 spectral channels o Spectral resolution equal or better (i.e. less) than 2 nm (FWHM – Full Width at

Half Maximum) o Spatial pixels equal or greater than 1600

• The large sample scanning system should include a linear translation stage and mounting frame that would be able to accommodate samples up to 80 cm in imager/stage traveling direction, and up to 80 cm in height, the width will be based on the lens FOV

• To also include:

o Calibration tile appropriate for the imaging system size o Objective lenses: standard c-mount, 12 mm and 23 mm o Software for controlling the stage/camera movement o Software for data acquisition and analysis o Halogen light source and its power supply to provide uniform lighting of sample(s)

3.0 Place of Delivery:

Deliver to the USDA-ARS Tropical Crop and Commodity Protection Research Unit (TCCPRU) located at 64 Nowelo Street, Hilo, HI 96720 within 90 days of award.

4.0 Technical Point of Contact

TBD at time of award.
