About this file

This document is an attachment detailing an Art Signage Printing and Installation project for South Salt Lake, encompassing signage development for 84 existing murals and up to 16 additional murals for the 2026 and 2027 Mural Festivals. The project requires a selected vendor to design, produce, and install multilingual signage for each mural, with specific elements including artist name, artwork title, year acquired, artwork description, a QR code, and city/arts council logo. The comprehensive project schedule spans from January 2026 to June 2027, with key milestones including contract execution, design file preparation, proofing, fabrication, and installation periods, with signage installation targeted for specific timeframes: March 16 to April 3, 2026 for the initial 84 murals, and subsequent installation windows in June 2026 and June 2027 for additional murals associated with the Mural Festivals.

The project involves close collaboration between the selected provider and South Salt Lake, with the city providing signage information, text in two languages, and QR codes after vendor selection. The vendor is expected to propose sign designs considering minimal damage to murals and buildings while ensuring public accessibility. The signage will be installed across both city-owned and privately owned facilities, requiring coordinated communication for placement. While specific pricing details are not outlined in the document, the project emphasizes a collaborative approach to design, proofing, and installation, with multiple checkpoints for city review and approval throughout the process.

South Salt Lake currently has 84 murals that we need signage for. A directory of all the current murals can be found here. Additionally, a map with all of the murals can be found here. Please consult these links when creating the proposal. These 84 signs need to be installed by April 3, 2026.

This project also includes up to 16 additional murals that will be included for the 2026 and 2027 Mural Festival. These additional signs will be installed by June 30, 2026 (for the May 2026 Mural Festival), and by June 30, 2027 (for the May 2027 Mural Festival).

Signage Sample (Include English and Second Language on sign):

*The City will provide all signage information, text in two languages and QR Codes once vendor is selected. Vendors should use the map and resources provided online to propose a design considering all elements outlined in the RFP. Selected provider will design, produce and install signage. Respondents should provide a visual of what signage would look like as well recommendations for placement as to cause the least damage possible to the mural or building itself, and in places with access for the public to see and learn about the murals. Items that may be included on the signage include:
