About this opportunity
A North Carolina educational institution is requesting proposals for South Campus HVAC Upgrades, a reposted solicitation, with proposals due September 29, 2026. The project involves comprehensive HVAC system modernization across the campus.
The scope encompasses replacement of two aging chillers (31 and 24 years old) serving the entire campus with a modular chiller solution designed to minimize construction disruption; replacement of original air handling units in buildings S201 and S202 that have exceeded their anticipated service life; conversion of pneumatic controls to direct digital controls throughout the system; and upgrade of the Building Automation System software to the college standard. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction while maintaining campus operations during the work.
Addendum 1, posted September 22, 2026, clarifies project specifications, labor requirements, materials, equipment provisions, and construction sequencing. The addendum addresses bidder questions regarding the modular chiller solution implementation, phasing of work, pricing terms, bid submission requirements, technical specifications for HVAC components and controls integration, performance standards, warranty requirements, and coordination with existing building systems.
The issuing body, contract value, incumbent contractor (if any), evaluation criteria, and complete procurement timeline are not specified in the available source material. Bidders should consult the full solicitation document (121-091726JA.pdf, 6 MB) and Addendum 1 for technical specifications, site visit requirements, bidder conference details, pricing guidance, and award timeline.

REPOST -The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of the project: The existing HVAC equipment, as indicated in project documents, is at the end of its statistical life expectancy and has become maintenance intensive. This project will replace two aging chillers (31 and 24 years), which serve the entire campus, with a modular chiller solution to minimize general construction impact. The project will also replace both the S201 and adjacent S202 building air handling units that are original to the buildings and beyond anticipated life. Replace remaining pneumatic controls, which are no longer well supported, will be replaced with direct digital controls. The Building Automation System software will also be upgraded to the College standard to enhance operation of the system.
