About this opportunity
The Town of Southbury, Connecticut is requesting proposals for exercise equipment design and installation at Settler's Park under RFP 2026-019, with proposals due August 27, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT and a mandatory site walk on August 17 at 10:00 a.m. The RFP is open to all vendors; no set-asides or preferences are stated.
The scope encompasses design and installation of cardio equipment (arm bike, upright bike, recumbent bike, and/or elliptical), strength training equipment (push-up bars, parallel bars, dip bench, pull-up bars, climbing rope, chest press, and suspension trainer), core strengthening equipment (sit-up bench or leg lift and balance elements), and lower body training features (adjustable steps, wall ball targets, and obstacles) on an existing 60-by-30-foot cement slab. The Town acknowledges space constraints and seeks vendor recommendations for optimal layout. Equipment must include instructional signage and comply with proper safety surfacing standards using poured-in-place rubber or turf.
The awardee must carry general liability coverage of $1 million combined single limit with $2 million aggregate, automobile liability of $1 million, professional liability of $500,000 per occurrence and $1 million aggregate, and workers' compensation as required by Connecticut General Statutes. A certificate of insurance naming the Town as additional insured must be provided prior to contract execution. The contractor must indemnify the Town against all liability and loss from claims related to injury, death, or property damage.
Payment is Net 30 Days from receipt of properly executed invoices. The Town is tax-exempt and will not pay sales tax. Proposals remain valid for 120 days from submission unless extended by mutual consent. Selection is anticipated by September 4, 2026, with contract approval by the First Selectman and Board of Selectmen. Vendor questions are accepted through August 17 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
