About this opportunity

Nassau Health Care Corporation is requesting proposals for campus-wide television service at Nassau University Medical Center and A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility under RFP 006-2026, with proposals due August 7, 2026 (extended via Amendment #1). The procurement carries a 30% total MWBE participation goal and a 6% SDVOB goal.

The scope encompasses programming, equipment, installation, maintenance, and 24/7 technical support across approximately 533 patient beds at NUMC and approximately 500 resident televisions at AHP. NUMC currently operates 43 provider-supplied channels plus 9 internally generated educational channels distributed via RF coaxial cable from a 19th-floor headend; AHP operates standard broadcast plus seven dedicated channels for Korean and Chinese programming. Proposers must submit separate cost proposals for Option A (maintain and upgrade existing coaxial distribution) and Option B (fiber-based or IP replacement system), though Amendment #2 issued July 30 permits bidding on either or both options rather than mandating both. Proposers must demonstrate a minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare television service experience, provide local technical support, and offer 24/7 technical assistance.

Evaluation is weighted: Cost Proposal (50%), Technical Solution (30%), Healthcare Experience (10%), and Implementation Plan (10%). All proposals must remain firm for 180 days; payment terms are net 30.

The incumbent is DirectTV, which held an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years. Questions were due July 17, 2026. An optional walkthrough is scheduled for July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carman Avenue Entrance, 2201 Hempstead Tpke, East Meadow, New York. The final contract is subject to approval by NHCC leadership, the NHCC Board of Directors, and potentially the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority.
