About this opportunity

The Morris County, New Jersey is soliciting sealed bids for the Replacement of County Bridge No. 1400-674, located on Gaston Road over a tributary to the Whippany River in Morris Township. The comprehensive project involves multiple construction and infrastructure elements, including performance and payment bonds, site mobilization, construction layout, site clearing, traffic control devices, excavation, concrete work, reinforcement steel installation, precast concrete culvert placement, stone masonry, and roadway improvements. Bidders must submit their proposals by September 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, with bid documents available for free online or for a $50 fee at the County Engineering and Transportation office. The project requires a 90-calendar day completion timeline, with liquidated damages of $1,500 per day for delays beyond the specified period. Contractors must provide a 10% bid guarantee not exceeding $20,000 and comply with New Jersey prevailing wage requirements and possess a valid Public Works Contractor Registration Certificate.

The contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation, including business registration, proof of contractor registration, and various required affidavits. The project will be funded through the County of Morris and awarded by the Board of County Commissioners within 60 days of the bid opening, with the final contract subject to budget appropriations and funding availability. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project involves replacing an existing bridge structure with new infrastructure. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the extensive scope of work involving multiple construction elements, specialized bridge replacement, and roadway improvements suggests a significant capital investment. Interested contractors should carefully review the complete bid package, which includes detailed specifications for each project component and compliance requirements.
