About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a contractor to complete campground improvements at Burr Oak State Park, located in Ashland County. The project involves constructing 10 sets of 36-inch wide stairs across multiple campsites, with lengths ranging from 25 to 42 feet, utilizing pressure-treated lumber, stainless steel hardware, and black powder-coated handrails. Additionally, the scope includes creating 7 individual 16'x16' leveled tent platforms using stacked treated wood posts in a cribbing design. The project is partially funded by a federal grant from the United States Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration, which subjects the contract to associated federal regulations. The work is scheduled to begin after September 2, 2025, and must be completed prior to October 31, 2025. Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with evaluation based on a low lot total determined by multiplying unit costs by estimated usage. Bidders are strongly encouraged to conduct a site visit before submitting a response, with specific contact persons provided for site visit coordination.
The procurement opportunity appears to be open to all qualified contractors, with an emphasis on the Buy America Provision that encourages the use of American-made equipment and products. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the contract documents include comprehensive federal contract provisions that address equal employment opportunity compliance and workplace regulations. The project will require strict adherence to detailed invoicing procedures, with invoices to be submitted directly to Ohio Shared Services using specified methods including email, fax, or mail. Contractors must provide complete documentation, including a unique invoice number, purchase order details, and itemized service descriptions. The contract is valid only through June 30, 2025, with any goods or services after that date requiring a new purchase order. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the detailed technical specifications and federal funding suggest a substantial infrastructure improvement project with potential complexity and precise technical requirements.
