About this opportunity
Morgan County Board of Commissioners in Georgia is requesting sealed bids for 2026 LMIG/TSPLOST patching and repair work on county roads, with bids due October 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Only contractors prequalified by the Georgia Department of Transportation are eligible to bid — a mandatory eligibility gate.
The scope includes patching and milling across 13 named road segments (Buckhead Road, Crawford, Prospect Road, Sandy Creek, Whitley Lake Road, Eugene Lane, Norris Lane, Clack Road, Carmichael Road, Riden Road, West Main Street, Nunnally Street, and Fifth Street) totaling 2,821 tons of reclaimed asphalt concrete patching material, 1,942 tons of 9.5 millimeter asphalt concrete, and 23,535 square yards of asphalt concrete pavement milling at variable depths, plus traffic control and striping services. All work must comply with current Georgia Department of Transportation Standards Specifications and be completed within 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with mobilization required within 60 business days. Work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with Saturday work allowed 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. upon 48 hours' notice. Contractors must remove all trash and debris daily.
Bidders must submit a 5 percent bid bond with proposals and provide a 100 percent performance-payment bond upon award. Monthly payment is made based on actual quantities installed and measured against unit prices in the Proposal Bid Tabulation Form. Liquidated damages are assessed at $250 per day for delays exceeding five business days after notice to commence or resume work. Contractors must maintain Comprehensive General Liability of $1 million, Automobile Liability of $1 million, and Worker's Compensation at statutory limits with Employers Liability of $500,000. The project is jointly funded by GDOT LMIG and local TSPLOST funding. Bids must be sealed, one original and one copy, and opened at the Morgan County Board of Commissioners Commission Meeting Room, 150 E. Washington Street, Madison, Georgia 30650.
