About this opportunity

West Virginia University is requesting proposals for a Liquid Chromatograph / High-Resolution Accurate-Mass Spectrometer System (LC/HRAM-MS) under RFP 202690000721, with proposals due August 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM EST and questions due July 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. The equipment will be installed at the WVU Shared Research Facility, BioNano Research Facility core laboratory at 100 Prospect Street in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Proposers must be authorized dealers, distributors, and/or representatives of the proposed system with appropriate technical and logistical expertise. The system must be a new manufacturer's standard model in current production, and proposers must deliver the complete system including installation, training, and service components. WVU encourages bundled proposals that pair the primary LC/HRAM-MS System with an additional MS System, such as a Triple Quadrupole System, to enhance targeted quantitation capabilities.

The LC/HRAM-MS System must meet comprehensive specifications including a binary pump with solvent degassing, UHPLC column compatibility with maximum operating pressure of at least 15,000 psi, temperature control, precise sample injection systems, and a mass analyzer capable of achieving mass resolving power exceeding 40,000 FWHM. Optional features include active or passive column pre-heaters, post-column coolers, photodiode array/multiple wavelength UV/Vis detectors, and nano-LC pump systems. Technical performance metrics, upgrade capabilities, consumable costs, maintenance procedures, warranty options, and service support arrangements are detailed in Attachment A (Q&A). Proposers must provide pricing in the format specified in Attachment B (Pricing), with all pricing valid through December 31, 2026. A Certificate of Liability Insurance is required as part of the submission. The anticipated contract start date is September or October 2026. No pre-proposal meeting will be held. Proposers must direct all communications to Procurement Official Rebecca Zajdel at rebecca.zajdel@mail.wvu.edu or 304-627-7801.
