About this opportunity
The State of Illinois, through the Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Division of Forest Resources, is seeking an experienced reforestation contractor to plant 52,200 live, cold-dormant tree seedlings across 72 acres in five separate locations throughout Northern and Central Illinois. The work must be completed between March 15, 2022 and May 15, 2022, with herbicide treatments completed by June 15, 2022. The contractor must have a minimum of 15 acres of hardwood reforestation seedling planting experience within the last 5 years, own the necessary equipment, and have staff with commercial pesticide applicator licenses. The contractor will be responsible for transporting, handling, storing, and planting the seedlings at a density of 726 per acre, as well as applying herbicide treatments to control weed and grass competition. A minimum 80% seedling survival rate and 70% weed control effectiveness across 90% of the treated areas is required for payment.
The procurement does not appear to have any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There is no information provided about incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The contract value or budget range is also not specified in the available documents.
