About this opportunity

The City of Glendale Purchasing Department is requesting quotations for one Freightliner 114SD Plus or equivalent CNG-powered 10-yard single-engine sewer clean/vacuum truck, with quotations due October 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Vendors must submit responses exclusively through the PlanetBids system; paper sealed envelopes addressed to 141 N. Glendale Avenue, Room 346, Glendale, CA 91206 are accepted as an alternative, but email and fax submissions are not. Each vendor is limited to one quotation per request; submission of multiple bids will result in rejection of all responses from that vendor.

The vehicle must be a 2027 or newer model year equipped with a Cummins L9N 320 HP natural gas engine, Allison automatic transmission, and Vactor 2110 sewer cleaner/vacuum body. Detailed specifications cover the chassis, axles, brakes, cab interior and exterior, vacuum boom system with 800 feet of 3/4-inch telescopic hose reel, high-pressure water pump system at 100 GPM / 2500 PSI, 10 cubic yards debris capacity, 1,000-gallon water tank, quad-camera vision system, LED lighting, and standard factory warranty of minimum three years or 36,000 miles from placement in service. Vendors offering "or equal" alternatives must submit detailed specification sheets substantiating equivalency; failure to provide such documentation may result in rejection.

Vendors must be authorized dealers of the manufacturers. All quotation prices must exclude sales and use tax (11 percent added separately by the City), include delivery FOB Glendale, California, and be based on net 30-day payment terms or longer. Quote line items must separately state vehicle unit price, document fee, tire fee (non-taxable), and sales tax with all totals clearly stated. Quote validity must be maintained for a minimum of thirty days from bid closing. The vendor bears all costs and risks associated with packing and delivery and is responsible for completing all California Department of Motor Vehicles registration documentation. The vehicle must comply with Federal and State Highway regulations, CAL-OSHA standards, and AQMD Rule 1191. The City reserves the right to accept or reject quotations on each item separately or as a whole.
