About this opportunity
The West Virginia Department of Transportation is requesting sealed bids for epoxy-coated rebar to supply the Wetzel County Salt Shed construction project under CRFQ DOT2700000014, with bids due September 23, 2026.
The scope calls for 80,791 pounds of epoxy-coated reinforcing steel meeting ASTM A615 Grade 60 specifications, sized #4, #5, and #8, cut and bent to schedule. The rebar must achieve minimum 60 KSI strength, comply with ACI 318 Building Code splice-length requirements (minimum 30 times bar diameter), and satisfy stringent coating-adhesion and holiday-detection testing standards for salt-environment corrosion resistance. Detailed structural marks are provided across 89 footing locations, 8 wall marks, 5 slab marks, and 2 approach marks, with individual quantities and dimensional parameters specified in Exhibit A. The project also includes 625 cubic yards of vapor-barrier concrete, 262 cubic yards of stone, and 7,122 square feet of Class H epoxy coating across footings, walls, slabs, and approach areas.
Bidders must submit quotations on a per-pound unit-cost basis using Exhibit B Pricing Page and certify compliance with all material specifications and delivery schedules. The procurement follows West Virginia competitive sealed-bid procedures. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting technical and administrative requirements outlined in the solicitation documents, including the Terms and Conditions (CRFQ DOT2700000014), Specifications, Instructions to Vendors, and technical drawings.
