About this opportunity
The Town of Caroline, New York is requesting sealed bids for an electrical contract supporting the Old Town Hall Restoration Project at 2668 Slaterville Road, Slaterville Springs, New York, with bids due August 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
The electrical scope includes adding exterior lighting at all exterior doors and providing exit, emergency, and general lighting to the stair tower addition and crawlspace. Work must be coordinated with the General Construction Contract awarded to Daniel J. Lynch. The property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and all work must comply with The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Bidders must have a minimum of five years of successful experience in completion of similar projects for State, National, or locally registered landmarks — this is a mandatory qualification filter.
The project is publicly bid with prevailing wage rates applicable. Although no required MWBE participation goals apply to this grant-funded project, the successful bidder must make a Good Faith Effort in MWBE utilization and furnish reports documenting participation. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain required insurance and bonds. A 5% bid bond or certified check must accompany each submission.
The project is funded in part by a grant from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation under Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993. Work may commence immediately after contract execution. Contractors selected for contracts equaling or exceeding $100,000 must submit a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire to the State, and all contractors and subcontractors must provide proof of Workers' Compensation and Disability Benefits Insurance Coverage.
Site visits are strongly encouraged; the Town Supervisor, Mark Witmer, is available at (607) 539-6400 ext. 4 or supervisor@townofcaroline.org to schedule appointments. Bid documents are available through www.nyplanroom.com. The owner may hold bids for up to forty-five days from the opening date for review and investigation of bidder qualifications.
