About this opportunity
The State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from electrical, general construction, fire protection systems, HVAC/mechanical, plumbing, and roofing contractors for prequalification in public school construction competitive procurements, with responses due September 9, 2026 at 12:00 PM (MT). A mandatory meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with attendance required in person or virtually. Prequalification on the DFCM registry is mandatory for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and K-12 entities selecting contractors on projects exceeding $500,000 under Utah Code Section 63A-5b-1216.
The prequalification establishes eligibility to bid on public school construction projects across the state. Six trade disciplines are open: electrical, general construction, fire protection systems, HVAC/mechanical, plumbing, and roofing. Contractors must meet specified qualifications in their discipline to qualify.
Prequalified contractors will compete for individual project awards through subsequent procurements led by LEAs and K-12 entities. The registry creates a pool of eligible contractors; qualification does not guarantee work or define contract value or term, which vary by individual projects.
Inquiries are directed to Chad Pulsipher, Senior Buyer, at the Canyons School District office in Sandy, Utah, or Chad.Pulsipher@canyonsdistrict.org. Complete solicitation documents and submission instructions are available on the State of Utah UP3 Bonfire site.
