About this opportunity

Central Connecticut State University Purchasing Department is requesting quotations for cleaning and degreasing of kitchen exhaust systems across three campus locations, with proposals due July 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

The scope includes semi-annual high-pressure steam cleaning and chemical degreasing of all kitchen exhaust systems in Memorial Hall, Hill Top, and the Student Center in compliance with NFPA code regulations; monthly cleaning of flat griddle and charbroil units; and quarterly cleaning of pot sink exhaust hoods. All work is performed primarily on Friday evenings beginning at 5:00 p.m., though CCSU reserves the right to schedule work on weekends or holidays without additional cost. The contractor must supply all equipment, supplies, and materials; all chemicals used must be food-service approved with Material Safety Data Sheets provided prior to award. The contractor shall not invoice for travel time or normal delivery costs, only for hours spent on the job.

The contract term is three years with two optional one-year renewals, commencing on or about August 1, 2026. Unit prices, extended amounts, and totals must be firm for 120 days from proposal opening; all prices are FOB Destination and exclude federal excise taxes and Connecticut sales taxes. General liability insurance is required with the State named as an additional insured. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws, meet CCSU Environmental Health and Safety procedures including job hazard analysis, safety plans, and OSHA training documentation, and coordinate with the Office of Environmental Health and Safety prior to work commencement.

Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified bidder. Evaluation factors include past performance, integrity, conformity to specifications, affirmative action compliance, and minority business enterprise participation. A non-mandatory walk-through is scheduled for July 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at East Hall. The deadline for questions submission was July 15, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. EST.
