About this file
This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) solicitation document issued by Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) for cleaning and degreasing of kitchen exhaust systems across three campus locations: Memorial Hall, Hill Top, and the Student Center. The scope of work includes semi-annual high-pressure steam cleaning and chemical degreasing of all kitchen exhaust systems in compliance with NFPA code regulations, monthly cleaning of flat griddle and charbroil units, and quarterly cleaning of pot sink exhaust hoods. Work is scheduled primarily for Friday evenings beginning at 5:00 p.m., though CCSU reserves the right to schedule work on weekends or holidays without additional cost. The solicitation opened June 24, 2026, with proposals due July 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EDT. A non-mandatory walk-through inspection was scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at East Hall, and the deadline for submitting questions was July 15, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. EST. The initial contract term is three years commencing on or about August 1, 2026, with two optional one-year renewal periods. Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified bidder based on evaluation factors including past performance, integrity, conformity to specifications, affirmative action compliance, and minority business enterprise participation.
Pricing must be firm for 120 days from proposal opening and quoted on an FOB Destination basis, excluding federal excise taxes and Connecticut sales taxes. The contractor must supply all equipment, supplies, and materials, with all chemicals required to be food-service approved and accompanied by Material Safety Data Sheets provided prior to award. Travel time and normal delivery costs are not invoiceable; payment is based only on hours spent performing work. General liability insurance is required with the State named as an additional insured. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws and meet CCSU Environmental Health and Safety procedures, including job hazard analysis, safety plans, and OSHA training documentation. Coordination with the Office of Environmental Health and Safety is required prior to work commencement. Inquiries should be directed to Charles Zsebik at 860-832-0041 or charles.zsebik@ccsu.edu.
