About this opportunity
The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services is requesting bids for carpentry machines, original equipment manufacturer replacement parts, accessories, installation, inspection, training, preventive maintenance, and repair services for the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) under ITB 25PSX0348, with bids due August 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EDT and written questions due August 4, 2026 at 12:00 noon EDT.
The scope covers 45 line items of carpentry equipment including jointers, planers, saws, sanders, lathes, CNC systems, and specialized woodworking machines from manufacturers such as Northfield, SawStop, Powermatic, Jet, and ShopBot. Quantities range from 4 to 28 units per item. The contractor must deliver, assemble, install, and commission all equipment by qualified technicians; provide machine maintenance and repair services on an hourly basis; and offer percentage discounts on replacement parts and accessories. All goods must be new and of the latest model, delivered F.O.B. to locations designated by the Client Agency.
The initial contract term is three years with pricing held firm and fixed during that period. Price adjustments for extensions beyond the initial three years are limited to the lesser of the actual percentage change in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index or four percent annually, subject to DAS approval. Contractors must request adjustments no earlier than 30 days prior to term expiration; failure to submit within the specified window leaves pricing unchanged for the succeeding 12-month period.
Respondents must submit three references from separate organizations discussing past contract fulfillment and relevant experience, and must certify compliance with Connecticut General Statutes regarding consulting agreements, campaign contributions, nondiscrimination, debarment status, OSHA violations, and Iran investment restrictions. Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified respondent based on pricing and bidder past performance, in that order of relative importance. All submissions must be made electronically through the CTsource portal; paper bids, email, telephone, and facsimile responses will not be accepted. This ITB replaces contract award 21PSX0016 in part or in total.
