About this opportunity

Washington Township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania is seeking competitive bids for diesel fuel procurement for the 2026 calendar year. The township is soliciting bids for approximately 3,500 gallons of Clear on Highway Ultralow Sulfur Diesel Fuel, which must be winterized as needed. Vendors have two distinct bidding options: first, provide 24/7 access to a fueling facility within two miles of 4 Flicksville Road, or second, supply and install a 500-gallon (or larger) tank with spill containment and electric transfer pump for direct fuel delivery. The bid must be submitted through www.pennbid.com by 11:00 am on November 12, 2025, with the contract award scheduled during the Board of Supervisors meeting that same evening at 7:00 pm. The contract period will run from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and the township requires the selected vendor to provide proof of insurance.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations were explicitly mentioned in the bid documents. The township is tax-exempt and appears open to competitive bidding from qualified fuel suppliers who can meet the specified requirements. While no incumbent vendors were identified, the bid allows for flexibility in fuel acquisition methods, potentially accommodating both local fuel stations and direct fuel delivery providers. The bid documents include pricing tables for both fueling options, enabling vendors to specify unit and total prices for diesel fuel. Though a specific budget range was not disclosed, the procurement is for approximately 3,500 gallons of diesel fuel for the entire calendar year, suggesting a moderate-scale municipal fuel procurement opportunity. The township reserves the right to waive bid informalities and select the most favorable bid based on the specific circumstances of the proposals received.
