About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 1 is seeking to procure eleven vaccine refrigerators for the VA Medical Center in Leeds, Massachusetts. The procurement specifically requires eight units matching Model BFRV36 and three units matching Model BFRV84, with delivery and unpacking services included but no installation required. Interested vendors must submit a comprehensive 2-5 page Capability Statement by May 2, 2025, at 14:30 EST to Contract Specialist Pearl Wray. The refrigerators must meet stringent requirements, including storage capacity for 1,300+ to 3,600+ vaccine doses, CDC-recommended temperature maintenance during power outages, and compliance with CDC and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program guidelines. Evaluation criteria will focus on vendors' ability to confirm refrigerator specifications, manufacturing origin, delivery lead times, contract vehicle type, and SAM.gov registration.

The procurement is not designated for any specific set-aside and will be conducted as a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order under NAICS category 622110 (General Medical and Surgical Hospitals) with Product Service Code 6515. While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope involves procurement of eleven specialized medical refrigeration units. The solicitation represents a market research initiative, and vendors are explicitly instructed not to include pricing information in their initial Capability Statement. Potential vendors must provide evidence of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorization if applicable and demonstrate technical capability to meet the VA's precise refrigeration requirements. The contract appears targeted at manufacturers or distributors of medical-grade refrigeration equipment with experience in supplying healthcare-specific cooling solutions.
