About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center is preparing to procure three custom fabricated Modular Intelligent Power Sources (MIPS) systems under a sole-source intent to GAA Custom Electronics LLC, with a capability statement response deadline of June 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Central time. The government will evaluate submissions solely to determine whether to pursue competitive procurement instead of sole source award and retains discretion to make that determination. This is not a request for quote; price offers will not be reviewed.
Place of performance is the contractor's facility, with delivery to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Code 699, Building 37, Room S225, 8800 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, Maryland 20771. Procurement will proceed under FAR Part 12 commercial items procedures using NAICS code 541990 and PSC 6625.
The three systems support quadrupole mass spectrometer instrument operations with distinct specifications. MIPS System 1 features 24 channels of ±250V DC bias output with analog input control and current monitoring per channel. MIPS System 2 includes 8 channels of ±250V DC bias output, analog control and monitoring, plus three ESI modules (fixed −500V nozzle lens supply programmable −100 to −800V with external TTL control, detector conversion dynode voltage supply −100 to −5000V on SHV connectors, and detector gain voltage supply −100 to −5000V on SHV connectors). MIPS System 3 comprises a quadrupole RF system supporting three operating frequencies (3.01MHz, 1.43MHz, 0.85MHz) with computer-controlled inductance taps, high voltage read relays, capacitance switching for tuning, filament control with closed-loop heater control, emission current monitoring, and external analog input for emission current setpoint control.
Delivery requires approximately 12–16 weeks from award for the first two systems and an additional 8 weeks for the third. All correspondence must reference ID 80NSSC26932282Q in the subject line.
