About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the fabrication and delivery of three custom MIPS (Modular Instrumentation Power Supply) systems to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The contractor must fabricate and ship all three units to Code 699, Building 37, Room S225, 8800 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20771.
The three systems have distinct specifications for quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS) instrument operations. MIPS System 1 features 24 +/-250V DC bias output channels with analog input control on a channel-by-channel basis and current monitoring capability for each channel. MIPS System 2 includes 8 +/-250V DC bias output channels with the same analog control and monitoring features, plus three ESI modules: a fixed -500V nozzle lens supply (programmable -100 to -800V with external TTL control), a detector conversion dynode voltage supply (-100 to -5000V on SHV connectors), and a detector gain voltage supply (-100 to -5000V on SHV connectors). MIPS System 3 comprises a quadrupole RF system supporting three operating frequencies (3.01MHz, 1.43MHz, and 0.85MHz) with computer-controlled inductance taps, high voltage read relays, and capacitance switching for tuning, plus a filament control system with closed-loop heater control, emission current monitoring, and external analog input capability for emission current setpoint control. The place of performance is the contractor's facility. The delivery schedule requires approximately 12-16 weeks from contract award for the first two systems and an additional 8 weeks for the third system.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
The Contractor shall fabricate and ship Qty = 3 (three) custom MIPS systems.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The contractor shall perform the following duties:
1) Fabricate three separate custom MIPS units with the following characteristics as described in the quote and below:
MIPS system 1: DC bias outputs for QMS instrument operations.
o This system has 24 +/-250V DC bias output channels. All 24 channels can be controlled by an analog input, and the user can select which channels are con-trolled by the analog input on a channel-by-channel basis. This configuration also includes a current monitoring capability for each channel.
MIPS system 2: MIPS system 2: DC bias output channels and HV outputs for QMS instrument operations.
o This system has 8 +/-250V DC bias output channels. All 8 channels can be controlled by an analog input, and the user can select which channels are con-trolled by the analog input on a channel-by-channel basis. This configuration also includes a current monitoring capability for each channel. An ESI module generates the fixed -500V supply for the nozzle lens. The MIPS system can program this voltage from -100 to -800V, and an external TTL digital input can enable and disable this output. Two additional ESI modules generate de-tector conversion dynode voltage and detector gain voltage, both of these sup-plies are adjustable -100 to -5000V and are supplied on SHV connectors.
MIPS system 3: Quadrupole RF system and filament control system for QMS instru-ment operations.
o This system comprises the quadrupole RF system and the filament control systems. The quadrupole RF head supports three distinct operating frequen-cies: 3.01MHz, 1.43MHz, and 0.85MHz. The coil design incorporates induct-ance taps and high voltage read relays, enabling configuration through com-puter control. Additional read relays facilitate switching capacitance, allowing tuning the system to the desired frequency. The configuration is computer controlled, eliminating the need for physical system modifications. The RF level and resolving DC control setpoints are defined using 18-bit DACs, with signal handling accomplished through differential line drivers and receivers to minimize noise. An analog input is provided to define the RF/DC voltages, enabling external control of the m/z setpoint. The filament module includes a closed-loop filament heater controller, an emission current monitor, and a closed-loop emission current control system. The filament controllers are iso-lated, allowing the emission energy to be determined by the applied DC bias voltage. An analog input enables external control of the emission current set-point.
2) Ship to:

3. Place of Performance
Contractor Facility
4. Period of Performance
