About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for demolition services at Valley Forge National Historical Park in Pennsylvania. The project involves the comprehensive removal of four obsolete structures: Whittle House and Garage, Loughin House and Garage, Midgley House, and Waggonseller Office. Key contract requirements include hazardous material abatement, complete structure removal, utility service disconnections, driveway removal, and site restoration using native seeding and tree plantings. Interested contractors must submit detailed information by May 28, 2025, at 12 Noon Eastern Time, including company details, business type, bonding capacity, project experience, and past project references. The NPS will evaluate submissions to determine potential small business set-aside opportunities and assess contractor capabilities for the upcoming solicitation.
The solicitation falls under NAICS code 238910 (Site Preparation Contractors) with a small business size standard of $19M. The estimated construction budget ranges between $1M and $5M, with an anticipated period of performance of 365 calendar days. No specific set-aside has been designated at this stage, as the NPS is conducting market research to inform the final procurement strategy. The project location is Valley Forge National Historical Park in Pennsylvania, where the demolished structures currently pose potential health and safety risks. The NPS plans to issue a formal request for proposals in June or July 2025 and will require solicitation, performance, and payment bonds from the selected contractor. The demolition work aims to remove attractive nuisances and restore the site to a more natural state consistent with the park's historical landscape.
