Notice text

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR) requires ongoing maintenance services for Government-licensed RayStation Treatment Planning System software.

The NCI maintains RayStation Treatment Planning System software on its servers within the Radiation Oncology Branch. This software is used to create safe and effective treatment plans for patients undergoing several radiotherapy modalities. It is also used for research for a number of functions including creating alternate plans and comparing a patient’s prescribed dosage. This software system is critical to the proper planning and administration of radiation delivery to patients managed by the ROB. Therefore, it is critical that the NCI maintain the software, as any downtime for the software could result in delays to patients’ treatment.

The NCI intends to issue a purchase order on a sole-source basis to:

RaySearch Americas Inc.
350 5th Avenue
Suite 500
New York, New York 10118

RaySearch Americas Inc (“RaySearch”) is the original developer and distributer of the software system. Based on market research, there are no third-party organizations that have access to the software and are able to provide updates and repairs such as bug fixes. Thus, the OEM is the sole source capable of fully meeting the requirement to maintain and repair this software.

Details regarding the specifications for this acquisition can be found in Attachment 1 –Statement of Work.
