About this opportunity
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is hosting an Acquisition Executive Small Business Forum on August 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time, with registration required by July 29, 2026. This event is restricted to small businesses.
The forum convenes USSOCOM's Acquisition Executive, Director of Procurement, and Director of the Office of Small Business Programs to assess the state of USSOCOM's small business program and gather feedback from small business participants across socio-economic categories and industries. USSOCOM seeks comments and discussion on barriers to doing business with the command, positive aspects of the current program, and suggestions for process improvement. The forum explicitly is not an opportunity for firms to present capabilities or receive forecasts of upcoming requirements.
Attendance is available both in person, limited to 100 individuals, and virtually. Firms are restricted to one representative per company for in-person participation; additional personnel from the same firm may join virtually, though USSOCOM reserves the right to limit virtual connections if needed. Attendees should prepare specific examples of barriers and potential solutions when discussing challenges.
Interested small businesses must request an invitation by completing a form at https://www.socom.mil/SOF-ATL/Pages/SOCOM-AE-Small-Business-Forum-Invitation-Request.aspx and may indicate their preferred attendance method.
Notice text
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is hosting an Acquisition Executive (AE) Small Business (SB) Forum on 8/14/2026 from 2:00:00 PM-4:00:00 PM Eastern Time. Government participants will be the USSOCOM Acquisition Executive, Director of Procurement, and Director of the Office of Small Business Programs. This session will be hosted both in person and virtually. In person attendance is limited to 100 individuals. Connection details will be provided upon selection to attend.
Intent of these meetings: AE SB Forums are intended to for USSOCOM to assess the state of its SB program and to allow small businesses to discuss barriers to doing business with USSOCOM, provide input as to what USSOCOM is doing well, and provide suggestions for ways to make doing business with USSOCOM easier. These roundtables are not meant to be an opportunity for firms to present their capabilities to USSOCOM, or to receive a forecast of upcoming requirements
USSOCOM would like to have participation from all socio-economic categories and a variety of industries. In an effort to maximize the number of firms able to participate, in person participation is restricted to one person per firm. Other persons from the firm may dial in virutally. However, we reserve the right to limit virtual connections if needed.
Please coordinate with others in the firm to ensure only one in person request is submitted per firm.
Expected of attendees:
We are actively soliciting your comments/feedback. Please be willing and prepared to engage/discuss.
When discussing barriers or ways to do business easier, please provide examples of issues and possible solutions.
TO REQUEST AN INVITATION:
If interested in participating, please fill out all of the information at the following link:
https://www.socom.mil/SOF-ATL/Pages/SOCOM-AE-Small-Business-Forum-Invitation-Request.aspx
On the form you will be able to indicate which methods of attendance you are willing to participate (Virtual only, in person only, Prefer Virtual but Either, or Prefer in Person but Either).
Even if you requested an invitation to a previous roundtable but were not selected to attend, you must respond to this notice in order to be considered for this roundtable.
The criteria considered when selecting both in person and virtual attendees (in no particular order and not listed in order of importance)
- Socioeconomic status (we would like representation from each socioeconomic category (SB, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, VOSB, and SDVOSB)
- Products and/or services provided (we lean more towards firms that provide what we buy, but want a variety of industries represented)
- Experience with USSOCOM (we would like a mix of experienced and inexperienced firms)
- The last time your firm has attended a SB Roundtable (we want to afford all firms an opportunity to attend a roundtable)
- When your request to attend was received; and
- Where your firm is located (we would like a mix of local and non-local firms).
Responses are due by 8:00:00 AM local time on 7/29/2026. Invitations for those selected to attend will be sent out no later than close of business on 8/5/2026. You may still submit a response after the due date. However, late submissions will be accommodated on a space available basis.
If not selected for this event, your contact information will be added to the list of companies interested in attending future events.
