About this opportunity
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires a contractor to replace and perform startup for a diesel engine driven 500KW 800 ampere emergency power generator at the US Horticultural Research Laboratory in Fort Pierce, FL. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, supervision, transportation, labor, work plan, and schedule, and ensuring effective performance. The contractor will also need to comply with all local, state, and federal labor laws, and the project must be in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and United Laboratories (UL) rated for clearance specifications.

Q2: What size sub-base diesel fuel tank will be required?
A2: 693 Gal
Q3: How many hours of generator runtime are required?
A3: at least 24 Hrs.

A12: No, location responsible for the generator removal. Old generator has to be decommissioned first to our inventory prior to disposal. This means removal from the US Government control.
Q13: Please verify that the owner (USDA) will provide fuel for start-up and fill the fuel tank of the new generator.

Q14: Are the existing power conductors to the generator expected to be reused or are they to be replaced?

The Government anticipates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract.
Each offer must show a breakdown giving price of each element, provide descriptive literature or information showing that the offered services meet all parts of the Statement of Work. Also, please provide past performance information.
Vendors responding to this announcement shall submit their quote in accordance with FAR 52.212-1. Submission of quote shall include the following: (1) Technical Specifications and (2) Price (to include shipping).
