The requirement covers specialized dual-labeled DNA oligonucleotides used in quantitative real-time PCR applications, including TaqMan probes with various fluorescent reporter dyes (FAM, VIC, Cy5) and quencher variants (QSY, TAM, MGB, QSY2) capable of multiplex targeting up to five or six targets depending on configuration. While this notice does not solicit competitive proposals, the Government will consider capability statements from interested parties. Procurement will follow FAR Part 12 Commercial Items guidelines under NAICS 325414 (Biological Product Manufacturing). Specific items include:
o TaqMan probes are specialized, dual-labeled DNA oligonucleotides used in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) to detect and measure specific DNA sequences. They feature a 5 fluorescent reporter dye and a 3 quencher, which suppresses fluorescence until Taq DNA polymerase cleaves the probe during amplification, releasing a measurable signal proportional to the target DNA amount.
o FAM, VIC and CY5 are the 5 markers respectably.
o QSY, TAM, MGB, And QSY2 are all 3 markers respectably.
o The probes can be used to perform Multiplex up to five/six targets
o TAM for Multiplex up to 2 targets, Ideal for maintaining consistency in projects using legacy TAMRA probe designs, Available with FAM, VIC, and TET dyes
o MGB for multiplexing up to five targets with FAM, VIC, ABY, JUN, and Cyanine 5 (Cy5)
o QSY for multiplexing up to four targets with ABY, JUN, FAM, and VIC dyes
o QSY2 for 5th and 6th target multiplexing with Cyanine 5 (Cy5) and Cyanine 5.5 (Cy5.5) dyes
