About this opportunity
The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) has issued a Special Notice for pharmacogenomics panel reagents testing supplies. The agency intends to award a sole source contract to CareDx Lab Solutions in West Chester, Pennsylvania, though they will consider responses from other interested parties. The procurement covers up to 4,000 tests of High Fidelity Platinum Taq reagents from Thermo Fisher and up to 21 reagent kits for either MiSeq or NextSeq sequencing platforms. This requirement falls under NAICS code 541714 for Research and Development in Biotechnology and will be procured as commercial items under FAR Part 12. The notice was posted on July 14, 2025, with responses due by July 19, 2025.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to procure specialized reagents necessary for pharmacogenomics testing, which analyzes how genetic variations affect drug responses. All contractors must be registered with the Systems for Award Management (SAM) and possess a Unique Entity Identification Number (UEI) to be eligible for award consideration. Successful vendors must also demonstrate the capability to invoice through PIEE and Wide Area Work Flow systems. The tight deadline of five business days indicates the urgent nature of this requirement for the Naval Medical Research Command's research activities. While structured as a sole source procurement, the government's willingness to consider alternative responses suggests potential flexibility for qualified contractors who can meet the specific technical requirements and delivery timeline.
