About this opportunity

The Department of State has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to ENERIA for a total overhaul of the generator located in the USEU building at the U.S. Embassy in Brussels. The contract will be a firm fixed-price procurement specifically targeting the complete generator maintenance and repair. The notice is being issued under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which allows for non-competitive procurement when only one responsible source can meet agency requirements. ENERIA has been identified as the sole responsible source due to being the original manufacturer with exclusive access to proprietary parts and technical expertise. The Special Notice was published on December 5, 2024, with a response deadline of December 11, 2024.

Contractors interested in this opportunity are invited to submit written capability statements demonstrating their ability to provide the required services within seven days of publication. The government has determined that ENERIA is uniquely qualified because they are the generator's manufacturer and the only company capable of providing a comprehensive overhaul with appropriate spare parts. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the agency will consider any capability statements submitted by potential alternative sources. The final decision to proceed with the sole source award remains entirely at the government's discretion. The estimated contract value is $29,500, and the procurement falls under the NAICS category 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance. Interested parties should carefully review the requirements and submit their responses promptly to be considered for potential alternative sourcing.
