About this opportunity

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) division of the Department of Homeland Security has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for an "on the move" biometric facial comparison technology solution. The purpose is to obtain information and recommendations for a system that can capture facial images of travelers in motion at CBP entry points, verify their identities against existing travel document photos, and provide visual notification of match/no-match results to CBP officers. Key requirements include ensuring image quality, eliminating duplicate captures, and integrating with CBP's Traveler Verification Service. Interested vendors are asked to submit responses by September 12, 2024 addressing operational, technical, environmental, cost, delivery, and prior performance aspects of their proposed solutions. CBP may request follow-up questions or a no-cost vendor demonstration.

This RFI is for market research and planning purposes only and does not commit the government to issuing a future solicitation or contract award. There is no set-aside designation, and CBP has not identified any potential incumbents or current contractors. The RFI does not specify an award value or budget range, as this is an information-gathering exercise rather than a competitive procurement.
