About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to a pre-solicitation Request for Information (RFI) issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for on-the-move biometric facial comparison technology at border entry points.
The RFI seeks information and recommendations for biometric facial capture solutions that can operate in high throughput border environments to confirm traveler identity upon entry into the United States. The focus is on pedestrian environments at airports, seaports, and land ports of entry, rather than biometric capture of travelers inside vehicles. This RFI is for market research and information gathering purposes only and does not commit the government to any future contract. Interested parties are advised to monitor the SAM.gov website for any related solicitations that may be issued.

Questions and answers
1. Question: I was wondering if the RFI is looking for responses that are only focused on the pedestrian environment, such as at airports, seaports, and pedestrian foot traffic crossings on the northern and southern borders, or is it is also looking for responses regarding the biometric facial capture of travelers inside vehicles, such as at land POEs?
Answer: Pedestrian environment(s) is the focus.
