About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Special Notice for a sole source firm fixed price purchase order for TaqMan Array Cards (TAC) from Life Technologies Corporation. The TACs are a specialized product used for multi-pathogen testing of post-mortem specimens in the CDC's Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) program.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the public of the CDC's intent to award a sole source contract to Life Technologies Corporation for the TACs, which are the only product that can be used for the CDC's testing requirements. The notice is not a request for competitive quotations, but the CDC will consider any responses received within 15 days of the notice's issuance. The TACs are required for the CHAMPS program, which is an initiative focused on investigating the causes of child mortality in low- and middle-income countries.
