About this opportunity
NAVSUP Fleet Logistics San Diego announced on June 19, 2026 its intent to award a sole-source 8(a) contract to CENTEK Marine for weight testing and dye penetration testing of Cranston Eagle Offload Hooks, which serve as primary lifting points for ship's Caley Davit and Articulating Knuckle Boom Crane systems. Recertification of these hooks is mission-critical for both Mobility Seaman and Amphibious Warfare operations and must be completed immediately to maintain compliance with mandated certification requirements and support an imminent deployment; failure to recertify will directly impact operational readiness.
This is a notice of intent under FAR 13.501 and FAR 6.302-1, not a competitive solicitation. Interested parties may submit capability information by July 4, 2026 via email to james.j.obbanya.civ@us.navy.mil. The government will consider all submissions solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement; the decision to proceed as sole source or compete remains entirely at government discretion. NAICS 332999; PSC 3815.
