About this file
This is a Statement of Work for weight testing and dye penetration testing services on Cranston Eagle Marine Hooks. The Navy intends to award a sole source contract to CENTEK Marine located in Thomasville, Georgia to perform critical certification and recertification testing on Cranston Eagle Offload Hooks that serve as primary lifting points for a ship's Caley Davit and Articulating Knuckle Boom Crane systems. These hooks are essential mission-critical assets for both Mobility Seaman (MOBS) and Amphibious Warfare (AMW) operations and must maintain compliance with mandated certification requirements to ensure safe operation of all launch and recovery systems.
The contract is being pursued on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.501 and FAR 6.302-1, with immediate recertification required due to an imminent deployment and the direct impact that delayed certification would have on operational readiness. The Navy is accepting capability submissions from interested parties until July 4, 2026, via email to james.j.obbanya.civ@us.navy.mil, though this notice is explicitly not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. The government reserves the right to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on information received, entirely at its discretion. This procurement falls under NAVSUP Fleet Logistics San Diego (FLCSD) authority.
