About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State, specifically the U.S. Consulate General in Merida, Mexico, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to WW. GRAINGER, INC. The contract is for diagnostic test equipment and tools specifically for HVAC Systems at the Merida facility. The procurement is being pursued under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-2, which allows for acquisition under conditions of unusual and compelling urgency. The total estimated contract value is approximately $22,000, including shipping costs. The Contracting Officer has determined that a sole-source award to Grainger is in the government's best interest based on the vendor's past performance and ability to meet urgent equipment needs.
Contractors interested in this opportunity may submit a capability statement within seven calendar days of the notice's publication, though this is not a competitive proposal request. The primary objective is to procure specialized diagnostic and maintenance equipment for the facility's HVAC systems, including items such as digital multimeters, manifold gauge sets, cordless tools, and safety equipment. Submissions should be sent directly to Dennis Monschein (MonscheinDR@state.gov) or Mickey Ding (DingMH@state.gov), with the place of performance located in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The government will not reimburse any administrative or information preparation costs, and all submitted materials become U.S. Government property. While this is a sole-source procurement, interested parties are still welcome to provide capability statements, though the government has already determined Grainger as the preferred vendor based on urgency, performance, and compliance with government rates.
